Christopher's Haven is Growing
From the Executive Director:
The moving trucks arrived on Monday, March 3 to move 2C and 6C to One Emerson where we double our capacity to house families. Over the next several months, we will be working hard to raise the funds to take over the remaining four units on the floor as they become available. With these in operation, we will be able to house seven families at once and offer a common area for recreation, sharing and support. Given that we have to be close the the MGH,
Welcome Lauren Crockett
Lauren is 22 months old and is staying at Christopher's Haven from mid- January into February 2008, with her mother, father and big brother, Ben (4). The Crockett family comes from Lexington, KY.

Gabby Cunningham's Party
Today was Gabby's party to celebrate the end of her treatment at the hospital in Burlington. All the kids went to help celebrate, and “G & G” (her grandpartents) too. It was a great celebration!!! Yeaaaaaa!!!

Christopher's Haven Founder Featured in Boston Ad Campaign
Boston Magazine and Dunkin Donuts are collaborating on a series of ads featuring Bostonians who "run on Dunkin and make a difference". Those who know Christopher's Haven founder Dan Olsen nominated the iced coffee lover in droves of web-based nominations.
Youkilis Hits for Kids Holiday Party
Dan Olsen, founder of Christopher's Haven, which provides housing to families whose child is being treated for cancer in Boston, was the MC for the 2007 Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids Holiday Party.
The Red Sox were well represented by Lefty and Righty.
Children enjoyed great food, entertainment and music at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge and ended the day with Christmas Tree Lighting.

Cameron enjoys the Halloween party
Cameron Langley, age 4 (in the gray shirt and cap) enjoyed the Halloween party at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Red Sox first baseman helped Christopher's Haven celebrate the holiday and the Year one Anniversary of hosting families in Boston. Cameron and his mom, dad and grandmother are staying at Christopher's Haven during his treatment. The family comes from British Columbia.

Welcome, Leon and family
Leon is a very high energy 9 yr old. He loves to play soccer in his native Dusseldorf, Germany, and has also been a judo student! He enjoys swimming with his family although 1 1/2 yr old Julie can't swim yet. Dad Maik and mom Sabine are so grateful to be at Christopher's Haven and have already started a fundraiser through their friends and family back home in Germany to support more home-stays for others coming to Christopher's Haven.. Welcome Leon and family!
Kevin and Kids Celebrate One Year
On October 31, Christopher's Haven celebrated one year of hosting families at a Halloween party at MGH with none other than Kevin Youkilis of the Red Sox!

September brought two new families to Boston.
Naiela Yolanda Leiva, known as Yoyo, age 3 is here with her mom. They come from Minnesota.
John Shapiro, age 2 1/2, comes from Pennsylvania. His mom, grandmother and 3 month old baby brother are with him. His Dad and older siblings, Kelsey, Andres and Katie will be visiting.
