Music Hits Home

« Back to news

Music Hits Home is available NOW! The album is a compilation of songs by some of today's top national and local New England artists all brought together for one purpose ~ to benefit Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids, a charitable organization benefiting children around New England, and Christopher's Haven, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing for families with children being treated for cancer. Youkilis will be signing copies of the CD on Friday, July 16th at the Newbury Comics in Faneuil Hall from 10am-12pm.

This joyous and roots driven collection of music includes a unreleased live version of "Why I Am" by the Dave Matthews Band, the beautiful and haunting live acoustic sound of "Everything Changes" by Springfield's own Staind and the rich, soaring voice of acclaimed singer-songwriter Lori McKenna. Music Hits Home embodies the passion and energy of Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids founders Kevin and Enza Youkilis with Phish's rousing cover of Boston's "Foreplay/Longtime," The Allman Brothers' "Black Hearted Woman," recorded live at Massachusetts' own Comcast Center and folk icon Jesse Colin Young's classic, but previously unreleased live version of "Get Together." Other artists who have generously donated amazing music include Ernie and the Automatics, Will Dailey, Entrain, Stereogroove and the always-rambunctious Dropkick Murphys.
