Christopher's Haven Founder Featured in Boston Ad Campaign
Boston Magazine and Dunkin Donuts are collaborating on a series of ads featuring Bostonians who "run on Dunkin and make a difference". Those who know Christopher's Haven founder Dan Olsen nominated the iced coffee lover in droves of web-based nominations. Among the stories told about the guy whose DD large iced coffee cup becomes the receptacle for Mountain Dew as the day progresses, was the one in which he obtained a sleeve of large plastic cups for the Youth Group Mission trip to Nicaragua a couple of years ago. He may have had to make his own brew while out of the country -- but it would have the right feel!
Dan was awarded the coveted feature in the December 2007 issue of the Boston Magazine. To celebrate, Dunkin Donuts and Boston Magazine offered to host a party at a location of Dan's choice. Naturally he chose the proton therapy center at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children in Boston to treat the staff and families being treated. The children who stay at Christopher's Haven have all been treated at the proton therapy center. They come to Boston for 6-8 weeks of daily outpatient cancer treatment.
Kudos to Julie Keene and Ellen "Buffy" Groves for their winning nominations.
